My dad has a what i think is a 5" tiger oscar he is red and black and he is in a 75g tank and he is moving rocks from one corner of the tank with his mouth and puts them in the other side of the tank like he is trying to clear out that corner i thaught he was trying to throw up but he eats fine and the water perams are all in check the gravel is pea size and larger from my understanding they are hard to breed in captivity and he is the only oscar in the tank so i dont know if it is thinks it is getting ready to spawn or if he is just playing would like to know what some of what you think it could be doing?

cichlids dig constantly. He's just arranging the tank the way he wants it. You can flatten out the gravel if you want but the oscar will rearrange again. :)

:iagree: Nothing to worry about, unless you want perfect decor..

and if you want perfect decor then an oscar is not the fish to have

My parrot does it all the time. Once a week we level the gravel out again so she has something to redecorate again. We keep a handful of quarter sized rocks, marbles, and plastic "gems" in there too - they take her longer to figure out how to move.
