A couple weeks ago i got a marine land magnum 350 canister filter from a friend and i had some problems getting used to using a canister filter but i ended up getting it running. Now a week later it stops, the filter continues to run but its not pushing any water out. Ive taken all the water out of the filter, disconnected and reconnected the tubes, cleaned it and still it wont get started going again. I turn the filter on and it sucks water in only about halfway then doesn't seem to have enough power to suck in more and push the water out of the tube. Its getting really frustrating because i am doing everything right and nothings working. I even start it up a bit by sucking on the outtake but then it tastes like crap and i almost throw up....and still it doesn't help!:nilly::nilly:

Any help would be very appreciated.

Alright, ill try filling it. Yeah i sucked as hard as i could....lol......but anyway i cant stand the crap taste of the water.

blahh I've had to do that before but now i only do it on my freshwater tanks and my pond, stopped on the saltwater... i just had to, saltwater is nasty

Yeah it is a fresh water tank but still sucking fish water isnt something i like. Its still not working, i think air if getting in the canister somewhere because there is no bubbles in the intake but bubbles inside the tube on the outtake. Its on tight....guess ill have to open it and make sure its all in place.

The canister is full of water, the filter is on, there is no bubble in the tube now, but there is hardly any flow at all coming out of the two outtake tubes. Any ideas?

Did you over pack it possibly?
what media is in it?

Its not the carbon its just the normal filter piece that catches the real fine particles.
