I noticed that a few of the shops that I went too had the large blue plastic cow ponds for keeping fish. Does anyone have one of these? I'm curious of how many gallons it holds. I saw one at the farm supply store. It was an 8 foot circle. Its the standard side that I see many fish keepers using.

i am thinking this will be the way that i go.........not only is there a farm supply store in town, but there is also appegate steel(they make Ideal stock tanks). they bring in a bunch of the poly stock tanks....

i am hoping to find an oval shaped one in the 350-500 gallon area.

That one is 768 gallons, I believe... We installed a skimmer and a pool filtration system and had a nice pool. Then we sold it before I really got into fish :(

i've got a 300 gal rubbermaid stock tank from tractor supply. i think it cost around $200. the plastic insulates better than galvanized. makes a nice mini pond.

i built an insulated liner pond for $200 that is 1200 gallons ;) they work great if you dont want to get down and dirty and build something bigger. dollar per gallon wise they beat out large tanks hands down. and ive seen some threads about putting viewing windows in the 300 gal rubbermaids.
