I plan on eventually building a 70 gallon pond (48x24x14), as opposed to the plywood tank I touched on in another post
I was thinking I could either build it with 2x4's with the skeletal design the king of DIY used for his 1200 gallon pond, and use styrofoam boards for insulation/a way to level the walls
but I was also thinking I could use 4x4's, but I don't think that would be as structurally sound as building it the way the joey build it
however if I did use 4x4s that would also allow me to put a viewing window, which rises its own questions
I have this plexiglass, it's thin but pretty strong, bows pretty hard without breaking and it's pretty hard to cut as it is
Since the pond's planned dimensions are as short as they are, would a small viewing window be fine to put in if I used the plexiglass I have?

You must have some very serious space constraints to be planning a "pond" with those dimensions. You alluded to a plywood build but the dimensions you are planning don't justify going down the plywood route. I'll add to that by saying the dimensions don't really warrant going down the pond route either. It will just look like a little box on the floor, unless you are planning on raising it up by putting it on a stand, in which case you may as well get a fish tank!

Not necessarily. With some nice landscaping around it, it could look nice... Granted I would obviously go bigger, but if that's all he can do, it won't necessarily look bad... Could look nice if done right... Especially if he lives in a place like NYC where he could have a tiny back yard.

It could also just be used as practice for a bigger build in the future...
