Hello everyone. My family owns a swimming pool company and i wanted a free/effective way to filter my 150g tank. So desided to slap on one of our extra above ground pool filters that we have had laying around our warehouse for about a decade.

Let me know what you guys think and if this method of filtration will be good. Im only planning on running the filter for about 4 hours a day with around 5 hours of off time in between each hour of filtration. This pump pumps 1800 gallons an hour, so i dont think i need to have the pump on 24 hours aday. And of course im going to get a couple power heads to keep the water moving and also for good airation.

Here are a few pics of my setup

Looks like it will do the trick.

I did the math and running that pump for 120 hours a month is going to cost $15 a month in electricity.

If i were to do a wet dry filter in like a 55 g tank with a sump, how many amps would a typical sump pump for that filter use?
