Yeah, Parka-Parka, I'm still here, putting in a word every now and then. Guess the garden is about harvested or fading a bit by this time. Had lots of rain this Summer in the SE. Good for the veggies, but good for the grass too!
Oh good, and I will continue to
Parka Self-Report at my own pace! About the garden, I'm still involved. Yes,
Sassafras , some of the summer crops are winding down. Picture below but my winter squash will all cut down on Aug. 15 and then I will get the bed ready for a fall crop.
I got the fall crop started just a couple days ago. Have a look!
And to keep it legit and fish-ish, here's a pic of my outdoor pool-pond. These are what's left of the babies from 2 summers ago, all the large Koi that I had would just disappear over the months. I lost my last large Koi just a couple months ago. I'm thinking racoon or maybe that crafty Great Blue Heron did it. Anyway, I'm bringing the juvie koi inside soon. Good Evening... !
Well what I want to do now is get the Cleveland set up a bit more wit this smallish 20 watt water pump for a couple water features for water movement. The six lift tubes are moving a whole lot of water and surface agitation looks quite active and busy, however, along the length of the tank below the surface there was almost no water movement at all, so I did add a small 10 watt circulation pump at one end, I'm counting my watts trying to use less electricity. And the lighting grid will be used to partition a two foot section on the left end that will be highly lit and heavily planted in the hopes of being a 'plant filter'.
I'm also going to grab a bunch of that pothos from the Chicago to get that plant filter started. Whenever I would keep koi and goldfish indoors I would always get algae on the glass but when I tried to grow plants, they would eat or destroy them.
Right now the Mighty Chicago is filled to the top but I might drain it half way and add some wet land features, inspiration from @roaches fishroom
