Just read this and thought it was fascinating and I'd share. This guy randomly went on a journey that led him from a circus graveyard to the discovery of a patent application, submitted by Abraham Lincoln in 1845, for something remarkably like FB, only a wee bit pre-internet! Pretty cool.

Tesla was actually working on a way to transmit electricity through air at some point, and by some accounts may have succeeded. Probably not, IMO. Still, that's technology we're barely advancing into today, so dude was ahead of his time.

Edison was working with DC direct current which could only be transmitted for about a half mile, Tesla worked with AC alternating current which could be transmitted over long distances. Edison knew Tesla had him beat so he invented the electric chair using AC to try to hoodwink the public into believing Tesla's AC was dangerous. I watch entirely too much history channel.

Also chuck norris's beard thought it was tough until Tom Sellek's mustash slapped it around.
