I've heard of people using abs plumbing for sumps and such, but can i use the pipe and glue inside a FW tank with no ill effects on my fish? If so, once its cured should i let it leach in water for awhile?

ive seen others do it but theres no way i would. abs pipe isnt rated for potable water and not worth the risk to me.

,....oh well, i used abs piping on my overflowbox-to-sump (all piping on the outside of tank)..with no ill effects at all to water or fish for the passed 9 monthes or so...i let it cure for 24hours, rinsed then used...i like the black color also 
Actually, the schedule 40 PVC that everyone uses, is not rated for potable water. CPVC and schedule 80 are. I install lawn sprinklers, and the codes reqiure piping approved for potable water, since the water before the backfow can get into and contaminate the house water.
