I have two projects I am needing or wanting to do.
I know PVC is aquarium safe, but I want a black piece of pipe and dont want to take the time to have to order a piece and ........wait

So my question is this.
In one of my ray tanks, I also keep a CK and need to give him a bigger hiding place. So was going to take a piece of ABS and attach a rock to it and give him that to hide in.

Second, I want to take a 24" piece of ABS and cut it into a half circle and make a over flow out of it for my new pup tank. Its not going to be a true overflow since I am using a non drilled tank, but its more of an area for me to put the heater and whatever to keep the pups safe.

Anyway, I have asked and several people say ABS is safe to use.
But some have also said its not.
I thought I would ask here since I trust my fellow ray keepers with anything I ever do in a ray tank.

So, my question is, is ABS for sure safe to use in a ray tank???????

ABS is used to make food and drink containers as well as thousands of other applications that come in contact with food. It is 100% safe, in my experience (I have had ABS in my tanks for years).

Now if I could just find it. I went to Lowes and Home Depot, neither have it in stock but can order it.. Ill check around. Thanks for the info

i have used the black dvw pvc pipe.it is not made for pressure applications but works fine as an overflow/drain without water pressure.
