I visited this store for the first time a couple weeks back and only crap was it awesome. Probably one of the best/well maintained fish stores I have been too. I was also amazed at how busy it was.

For all you local folks that visit it, I saw on their website they are running some sort of special even sale on 8/19-8/20. Anyone have any idea what that is? They mention raffles, vendor sales, livestock sales, etc but I am not sure if this is just gimmicky or they typically do big sales.

Great place though and found a lot of their prices for meds, etc are similar to amazon versus being crazy inflated.

Great store. They always have a good selection of fish and dry goods never go out of stock. Their big sale is worth the trip. Tons of raffles, fish are heavily discounted, and company reps are usually on site with promos and give aways.

Yea their tanks are pristine not a lot of stuff for the monster fish keeper but always a great selection of healthy fish. And a ton of staff to help

It's a good store, very clean, a lot of dry goods, and good salt water selection. However I find them lacking in the freshwater department, especially when it comes to larger fish. Their prices are also a little bit too "premium" for me.

Nothing beats Aquascape, Pet Place 2 (Nanuet, NY, north of absolutely fish), tropiquarium, and aquaparadise when it comes to freshwater selection in NJ area.

Their salt stock is definitely much larger than fresh. I saw some monster fish there, but you are right that they don't stock them like some of our other primary vendors.

Tahn Tahn I need to try those others you listed. Not a fan of aquascape. Too many times I have gone there and their tanks seem like they weren't taken care of and too many people getting fish that weren't up to par. They just arent what they used to be 5+ years ago.

I have heard good things about Absolutely Fish and also about them rather lacking in the freshwater monster area....another shop I have been meaning to pay a visit to.

I was just amazed at how organized and clean the store was. They were also just very busy. I am so used to go to stores like Aquascape that while have good stock seem to spend not time on setup or shop presentation. Not to mention the stores are very often empty leaving me to wonder how long they will be in business.

Without going any further into Aquascape I know just what you mean about them.I mostly go to the shops in my area during the week and early in the day when I know the places are least likely to be crowded.I prefer to avoid the weekend crowd with the kids running up and down the aisles as if they are at a free zoo.I hope the shops all do brisk business over the weekend but I'd rather be able to wander around the shops with no one in my way.

It's very well maintained, not much monster oddballs and tanks are heavily decorated. I prefer places like former Shark Aquarium, Monster Aquarium, or AP. where tanks are mainly fish oriented
