Can the 110 attach to the back of an aquarium with a 1" thick edge?

Yes I have one on my 125 and it has a 1" rim.

Thanks for the prompt replies. I was thinking of installing one of these in my 180, currently filtered with 2 XP 4's. I'm not getting the polished water I use to get when I used a Tidepool II and XP3. The aquarium was relocated to the living room where hardwood floors were recently installed and I didn't want to take a chance of any spills using a wet dry, for now. Do you think the AC110 will do the trick?

It will certainly help. I would double up on the sponges.

mine works very well. I have extra bio beads in it and no carbon. Good stuff.

i add filter floss under the sponge for extra mechanical.does great

I would also put some floss in a bag on top and weight it down with something.Change the floss frequently.
