AC 110 question??????

how often should i clean my AC 110? its been almost a year and i havent cleaned it yet...

I rinse the sponge out in non chlorinated water about once a month.

I probably do mine about once every 3 months. When it comes to cleaning filters, I just kind of guesstimate when I should clean it.

I have three AC-110s running on a 125GAL, plus a canister filter. I personally rinse out the sponges every other week. The canister media I rinse out every other month. Both with warm tap water and never had any negative side effects over the many years of fish keeping.

So you have never had your BB die and cause a mini cycle?

I thought rinsing sponges out would kill BB. I am guessing you leave the bio media alone and only rinse the sponge media?

i have my 2 ac 110s and a xp4 on my 150 tall and i clean the filters sponges about every 2 weeks, and the actual filter i clean once every 3 months or so just to make sure everything is in working condition
