Ok, I have an Emp 280 on a 40 gallon which is fully cycled, and I have a 110 Aqua Clear which I'm cylcing with Danios and sludge on my 15 Gallon hospital. I would like to move the AC 110 when fully cycled to the 40, but does it have more beneficila bio capacity then the EMP? I'm quite the believer in the Bio-wheel, but the thing has given me sleepless nights......In the AC 110 I have the sponge and biomax, and am going to probably add another bag of biomax....

use the 110 for your 40 gallon it does 500 gph and the 280 is only 280 gph also the bio wheels are good but i would use the 110 for your 40 gallon there is a way of setting the bio wheels on your ac110 i seen it on this site of another one cant remeber where i seen it at....but if you like the bio wheel you could get the 400 whichs is good to..

i'm a AC addict....whenever I use a hang on back filter...its an aquaclear. no questions for me. with 2 bags of biomax I'm willing to bet you have better filtration than a biowheel. On top of that they are easier to maintain and quieter

I too am a AC fanatic. However, I recently purchased a Penquin 350
for $26.99 and it is awesome as well. The only downfall of the P350
is that I do not like hearing the water cascade over the biowheels.
AC is #1!!!
