what should i do about a leak around thepump and where it connects to the filter box, just bought the thing and its already leakin on me. would silicone do the trick?

ok, thanks ill go get a new one but i think i might keep this one. i htink i might test the silicone to see how heat resistant it is just to make sure it is safe
Take the motor off, go to a car part store (or hardware store) and get an "O" ring that will fit in the groove. I wouldnt use silicone as it would probably just leak later on.

Nah dude,their Guaranteed for LIFE,5 bucks is all thats req'd .I'm in MASS,so i could drive it to Hagen
I guess s&h,i gotta read the manual,but if he opened that box with that problem,it's covered.You could even get a Motor repair kit on e-bay or Big als and other pet websites.It has the rubber rings,impeller(if needed),so hes all set.Bummer that it dont work already.
thanks for the help but i took it back and got two new ones that work fine, i tried finding an o-ring that fit just right so i just returned it.
