I have noticed that there are a lot less new posts on AC than there are here. They have quite a few more members. What's up?

not sure but i noticed that also

most of the people who join just haunt around the forums, or post 1 thread and leave. there are very few regular posters.

They are all busy in the chat room

AC is laid out in a disorganized way. It is hard to find anything. Here things are well grouped and better organized. Here on the main page, you have all of the forums. At AC, you have to go looking for the button to get to the forums.

MFK will always have several pages to read since my last visit (daily).

the other sites only give me a handful every couple of days.

AC has been unusually quiet lately. I know that there were some senior members that got a little ticked off.....don't know if this is the issue or what.......

What / who is AquariaCentral.com ?

Aquaria central is one of the oldest living fish forum / community in the world and its the mother of all forums... i can say there are ton of spin-off "fish forum" from aquaria central.

the main reason AC is not up to its expectation is because of the 2 year neglection. but dont worry... Things are changing day by day since August 2006. It will only get better... :)

We are all family now :) with the new concept of MonsterAquariaNetwork (MAN) we will bring the glory back to aquariacentral :)

so if you havent sing up to any of MonsterAquariaNetwork sites.... i urge you go there and sign up... if you havent post anything... drop by and say hello to your brothers and sister over there....

AC is more than just a forum. Its an all arround information site. True it is need of a major overhauling, but it has articles, profiles, links to books you can purchase online, etc.

The forums themselves are very basic. A lot of people talk about adding subcategories for various types of fish, but it just spreads out the information more. Also, since AC deals a lot with general aquaria, many of the same questions are asked over and over. It's quite easy to do a search and find the same question you are needing an answer to has been asked before. Rather than post it again, people can just read what has already been said. I doubt it is so easy at MFK because of the nature of your subject matter(rare, exotic, etc) meaning that more in depth questions arrise and are not always satisfied by searching previous posts.

Im positive the problems the board had over the last 2 years play a roll in things as well, as neo pointed out.
