AC Advice: what to replace carbon with??

Would another ac sponge fit in an ac50? I have one sponge and standard biorings right now.

I have used it on both salt and freshwater... pretty darn good results

They claim it lasts 4 to 6 months... my results were more like 3 to 4, but still light years better than plain old carbon IMHO

I was wondering the same thing. In my oscar tank, he produces a lot of particulate waste when eating, it would be nice to filter more of that out. I like having the extra media though.

I use pot scrubbers in mine between the sponge and the BioMax. I cut, unroll, remove the sponge from the middle of the pot scrubber, then fold it to fit basket, then place it in there. Great results so far!!
