Hey guys I have 2 AC110's for my 450g set up but I have a fitment issue. The issue is it doesn't really fit properly due to the euro bracing being too thick so the intake tube is off and not aligned properly. So what I have running is one of my Emperor 400's instead and only 1 AC110 for temporary. Now my conclusion would be either to ditch the AC110's and add another Emp 400 or should I just ditch the HOB's completely? I have 3 FX5's running already. The Emp 400 has no fitment issues. What would u do?

Id say three fx5's are plenty for filteration. What I would do is ditch the hobs keep the 3 fx'5 and get a couple hydor koryia circulation pumps or powerheads to help with water circulation and to help keep debris off the bottom of the tank

Ya I was thinking of ditching the HOB's cuz I do have enough filtration + 2 x 1200gph Hydor Powerheads running as well. Also saves me the hassle of cutting my top platic pieces for my lid. Right now I replaced the plastic pieces with custom cut thick densed styrophome pieces and taped it down really well. Was going to save the plastic pieces when I make my sump so I won't cut in the wrong places.

cheaper just to sell the ac110 and add another empo 400.but like u said u really dont need anymore then the 3 fx5's

I'd probabely keep the AC110's for back up filters. I will be picking up a 90g later on and most likely use the AC110's on it.

i hear ya. im glad i saved my 2 empo 400's. i used them with 2 fx'5s on my 300. worked out good.

Ya I find emp 400's one of the top HOB filters today especially with it's bio wheels and that's all u need. Also it has the long intake tube pipe but only downfall is they are very noisy imo.
