My AC110 is flowing weird (again) and i already know how to make it flow normal but this is the 2nd time in a week that i have to do this and there shouldnt be any gunk caught up in the motor because i just cleaned it out the other day any ideas why its like this?

Do you have live plants in your tank? What size tank and stocking level?

Both my AC110s gunk up pretty quickly with live plant matter. But, it doesn't really affect the flow level unless it gets really bad. After discussing with you last time, did you pull the impeller and check it? You may have something wrapped up around it.

Hey everyone new to the forum, I had the same problem with mine. The metal pin that is in the motor is probably rusting, which causes the motor not to spin the impeller properly. Which is why you might not be getting good flow. This just happened to my AC 70. I noticed my AC had totally stopped and dried out, I took everything apart and noticed a lot of resistance trying to turn the impeller and noticed that the metal pin that the impeller slides onto was kind of rusty and corroded.

its on a 55g with no live plants and a flowerhorn red devil and a rtc and yeah i checked it last time but im gonna check it and clean it again im doin a 50% WC right now

the filters only a little over a month old tho i might of missed something when i cleaned the impeller last time but it was flowing fine last night but i was only half flowing and half dripping today so idk

Perfect...and good luck. AC's have a reputation for being bullet proof. I am hoping you find something and your troubles go away.

Just thought of one more question...is your water level pretty well full? The lower the water line, the harder it is for the pump to pull water.

Thats good so the rust shouldn't be a problem, mines close to 8yrs old. Qtips works wonders on cleaning down inside those motors.
