AC30 Filter Not Working

So I had an AC30 running at my house and everything was perfect for months. Then tonight I gave it to my girlfriend to use on her tank, at her house, and "It's not working." The best explanation I can get from her is "It's not doing anything", which doesn't really help describe what's going on.

Any ideas on what happened? Or why it would happen?

Apparently the motor isn't working, and it's hot. Did it burn out?

Take pump off and clean/check impeller for damage or crud stopping it from spinning, usually does the trick.

Did your girlfriend fill the filter with water before trying to run it? As suggested above, take the motor off and clean the impeller. If that doesn't work use something to spin the impeller to get it started.

ac filters dont burn out....tell her to plug it in in give the impellor a spin with a pencil or something similar.... it should start right up......
