I placed an AC5000 Powerhead in my 100g rbp growout 3days ago....Running 24 hours a day, all was fine untill tonight....First off today is my birthday, so I go to Home Depot to purchase pea gravel with some birthday money.....The gravel is for my 10 2inch growouts that are in a 100g....I come back home and notice the tank sort of cloudy....Right away I notice the shoal looks smaller....I turn off the ****ing powerhead and see 2 reds tangled up in the propeller....****!!!!!!!!!!!:swear: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

awwww dood that suks
srry for the loss

i used to use power heads with my, they seemed to like it, but i dont know if it really matters, dont have one now, and look at video of amazon, its so big it very still, little or no current visable. i dont plan on using one agian

sry for your loss

sorry for your loss......but did u have some kind of adapter on the bottom or did u just leave the bottom open.....u might want to get one of the filters for the bottom

Thank you for replies....I'm over the loss now....They've actually settled down pretty well...And surprisingly, the majority of nipped fins are growing back....It's probably because one of the diced ones were the bully.....Plus, I think it's better to lose some now then down the road, full grown and so used to....

As for the powerhead situation, I down graded to the lesser 201....At 49.99, I do not waste equipment like this, so I'll see if there is a filter attachment for that AC5000....
