ac70 louder than ac50

i just bought a ac70 and it is significantly louder than my ac50. the noise from the motor/ impeller is much louder. a louder humming noise. is this normal?
i can sleep with the ac50 in my room but not with the ac70

i have 2 ac70s, and they don't make a sound. you may have gotten a bum filter.

yeah go get another one. they are silent when water level is even with filter outlet.

are u referring to the top lid?
i do not have that on..the lid rattles when it's on, making more noise.

i would take it apart and make sure the bottom part, motor is fit correctly.... then again.. i'm using an ac110..

But the rattleing sound is usually from things not put together tightly...
If it vibrates.. the top makes more noise.. it could be spaces between the tank and filter... its ac70 is a hob... make sure that theres no space that makes it vibrate...

if problem still continues... i would just exchange it for another...

i already shipped it back but i am kinda feeling nervous to replace it with another ac70.

My AC30 was noisy when I put it on the tank, but within 24 hours quieted down. Now I can't heat it unless I'm standing within a couple feet of the tank, and at that, it's the quietest HOB I've run in a long time. I know you've already sent it back, but who knows, maybe it was just breaking in.
