Hopefully before too long I'll be looking to add a second filter to my 65g. Currently I'm running a single rena xp3, stocked with 1 jd, 2 sen's, 6 tiger barbs and 2 convicts.

Would be I fine to pick up an ac70, or should I REALLY go for the ac110?

Personally I think your Xp3 is just fine. If you must add (and if I remember correctly) the bracing on the 65g is too thick and wan Ac70 won't fit down correctly. At least that' the way it was on the 65 I had.

I would opt for the 110 I have 2 on my 180 with eheim canisters they are the best currently available

Cool, I figured i may as well just go ahead and drop the extra 30 bucks and get the 110, but I have this obsessive need to ask before I make purchases like that:screwy:

My water stays cloudy enough that I just don't think the xp3 is enough on its own. Then again I might just be doing something wrong, the water in my 20 doesn't stay crispy clear either and it has a magnum 250 HOT with just 2 convicts and a snail. Granted, that might be because its been loaded with carbon for 2 or 3 weeks now, probably need to take that out and replace it with biomedia of some sort.

Yea, It wasn't that long ago that you were asking about setting up your xp3. So, maybe your bio isn't fully mature or you don't have enough bio media. Honestly, if youre changing your water regulary an xp3 should just be fine.

I've got about a tray and a half of ceramic rings & stars for bio. And No I don't really think the bacteria is all there yet, although I did get to the nitrite spike and then go through 7 days of seachem stability...so by all means it SHOULD be there:\.

I dunno, we'll see what happens over the next week or two, but I have a feeling its going to take a second filter.
