hi all..setting up a small loach tank which one is more suited for clown loaches? tank size will be about 35gal..thanks..

Both plus a strong powerhead, Loaches love current. They actually need a bigger tank though. They need to be able to stretch and move fast to grow big and strong.

I'd stick to 55g as a minimum for a river setup.

i'd do ac70 if ur just doing such a small setup.. canister is more for the bigger size tanks.. 55gallon and beyond...

for a 35gal.. AC 70 is good. enough.. u want more current... And canisters actually dont give such a strong current.. its very weak...

I use AC 70 on a 20 gallon. Go with two on a 35. The loaches will need a bigger setup eventually, unless you choose the smaller species.

instead of going for 2 ac70s or a canister and an ac70, why not just get the ac110. it has tons of space for media, and you won't be disappointed with it if you ever upgrade in tank size. having a canister and ac70 on a 35g loach tank is a bit too much. you should worry more about putting that money towards a bigger tank like has been said

eheim 2232 and a powerhead.
