If I were to get an Acanthicus Adonis pleco, would it get along with a black ghost knife and two spotted rapheals.

Experiences please.

Thankyou

My adonis pleco lives with a whole slew of different species, everything from an array of catfish, to other plecos, to clown loaches to discus, etc... I just make sure there are LOTS of homes in the tank, and everyone does fine. The only thing you will probably need to watch for is to make sure he is getting enough to eat. BGK can really be pigs. I never see my spotted raphael unless I dismantle the tank, so I can't tell you about his eating habits other than he must eat as he is still alive after a year of having him. I feed pretty heavy and allow the clean up crew (plecos and other slow eaters) to do their job.

^^ what she said. :P

and make sure youve got enough caves etc. in a bare tank or one with 1 cave, the adonis will get Reeeally pissy.

Yah I plan on having a cave per bottom deweller plus a spare.

What is the usual adult size and price range for one from your lfs.

Also how much per month does your Adonis grow.

From further online research it seems that adonis gets along with most fish and that they tend to stop growing at 16 inches or grow really really slow after the 16 inch mark in aquariums

Dont forgot that they are largest growing plecs and are capable of over metre in length.

Yes, they can get freaking huge. They are, however, fairly slow growing, from what my experience and from what I have been told by other owners. I got my guy at 2 inches (maybe a little less). He was tiny. I think he was $20 or $25. This was April 2008 or so, and he is probably 7"+.

yah that is slow compared to your other cats.

So in a years time expect 5 inches of growth. at least in the first year.

Has anyone ever grown one in a home tank up to or close to its wild size of a meter.
