Went to the Shedd Aquarium recently and saw an acara species (at least I'm pretty sure it was an acara) in the Amazon rising section that I couldn't identify. Very similar to a GT or Blue Acara in terms of facial markings, but little else. It also had redish fins that reminded me of a Bahia Red, or similar Geophagus species. Another identifier was four dark spots on the side of the body. The biggest was probably five to six inches. Anyway, still trying to figure out what they were and wondered if anyone has seen them, or has any guesses. Didn't get a real good photo. Any ideas?
