I currently have a juvenile flowerhorn in my 55 gallon tank. I would be shortly replacing him with a pair of Acaras. Was wondering if Acaras are compatible with Elephant Nose. If yes, I would like to buy one and put him together with the Acaras. Can you please suggest if it is a good idea?

Here is a picture of my fish tank.

I have never had an acara but I know they are more off a peaceful cichlid and know that people have kept them with rainbow fish and rams. I don't know much about elephant noses and there personality. But I do no that arcars are some what peaceful.

While they are mild for cichlids, compared to other fish blue acaras can still be territorial. I've kept them for several years before, and would not trust them with an elephant nose at all. Especially once paired.

No frontosas are way more aggressive than an arcars. And I did some research on the elephant nose and they are a peaceful fish that belongs in a specialist community tank
