I picked up one of these over the summer to put in my 125 with geo ipoangensis, rotkeil, sd and plecos. Once in a while, usually when the wife is watching chick shows, I'll try to learn more about them but info isn't very clear. Co specific aggression is agreed upon to be high but agrressipn to other species is all over the map. Are they aggressive for an earthetear or aggressive in general? I'm having a heard time deciphering what they are being compared to when I'm reading up on them.

My heckelli are not aggressive at all. I have a 10" male and a smaller male in a 125 with severum, festivum and aequidens metae.

I think it depends greatly on if they are kept as an indevidual or in groups and the other tankmates. I kept a group and the conspecific aggression was not too bad. The aggression towards other species was not bad at all.

Are they one of those 3s a crowd but 5 is a party species?

I am trying to figure out the aggression issue also, having obtained a juvie pair myself..and wondering if I made a mistake :-/
