I picked up an Acaronia Nassa off jeff rapps when I got my super red severum from him, and I must say...I just threw it in as a topper to the order as it was fairly cheap, seemed interesting/unique, and fit the size and shape I was looking for. He (or she) was fairly subdued early on, often hiding in driftwood but lately he's been showing himself and his colors are amazing. The iridescence in his facial pattern is great. And the personality is there too...he's a little beast. His head is easily 1.5" wide...and does he have a mouth. He out eats everything but my large pearl eartheater. I'm really starting to like this little guy, hopefully this post will spur more of you to get some!

I kept a group a while ago. Very interesting gape & suck preditors. I liked the bronz and blue markings too. They did eat like pigs I honestly don't know where they put all the food they ate. These are some pics of mine.

Basketmouths are great cichlids. I have four A. nassa in my 150 gallon. They didn't end up as large as I wanted them to be, but they still have really impressive fins and it's a lot of fun to watch them at feeding time.
