my amazon puffer, one of them had overgrown teeth and I used colive oil to sedate and then I was trying to cut it short, while accidentally, out of the both teeth one of them successfully cut from half and the other left one was stuck in the nail cutter and accidanally pulled out from root. this had happened months ago, I see the one that was successfully was cut , got longer again, but from the one that was pulled from the root, it does not show any sign of regrow. so this poor puffer looks weird with just one tooth.

he is eating ok and growing normal, but has only one teeth. do you have any idea if his tooth is going to grow again?

Puffers from what I have read can regrow teeth but pulled from root unsure.

Damn, i honestly never heard of anyone pulling a tooth out from the root so can’t say with any certainty if it will regenerate or not? Im kind of guessing its a 50/50 chance based on the way the beak does grow…

Just curious how long ago did this happen? Coz i would love to hear an update to know if it eventually grows back or not?

However, the most important thing is that you puffer is still eating and isn’t showing any other problems… if thats the case then i’d just be extra careful the next time you need to trim their teeth again…

Okay, i just skimmed through this article as its a long read and im kinda busy atm…

But it seems that it may not be impossible for a puffer to regenerate a lost tooth if i read what i skimmed through correctly…
