Hey guys, I've got three longnose/shortnose gars being delivered wednesday (not 100% sure which they are), and I was just wondering what your recommendations for acclimating them and adding them to the tank would be.

I didn't really do any acclimating for my florida gar, I just kind of dumped him in, because it came from the same city water I'm on, and the temp was almost identical.

However, since these gars are being shipped about 200 miles or so, and will be in the bags overnight, do I need to do a drip acclimation, or just float the bags in the tank to let the temps equalize, or just dump them straight in?

Thanks,
Conner

dont u trust me?? im almost sure they are shortys.
i used airline tubing to do my. do a drip

oh and im most likly gonnq get some as well

Sure I trust you ;)

Well, the problem is they'll be arriving while I'm at work, so my gf is going to be putting them in the tank. I don't know if she'll be up for doing a drip acclimation, especially since she's babysitting all day that day... I might just have her float them in the tank for 15 minutes or so, then let them loose.

have u got them yet??
he said hed call me but no call yet. ill have to call him.

He shipped them this afternoon, so they'll be here tomorrow. You can be sure I'll be posting a ton of pics as soon as I get them.
