So I ordered some red mangroves online. They will ship Monday, probably arrive Tuesday or Wednesday. They are currently being kept in slightly brackish water. The guy said he uses 1 Tablespoon marine salt to 1 gal water. I need them to be acclimated to full salt. How do I go about doing this?
I know I have to keep them separate from my main tank until they are fully acclimated. He told me it would take like 6 weeks or more to do it. So my plan was to set up a gal, I don't know, ice cream bucket or something, and add a Tablespoon of salt every week until they are fully acclimated to a specific gravity of 1.025. I'm assuming that doing it this way will take a L-O-N-G time though. So the question is, will they be able to survive a more aggressive acclimation schedule? And what would a good acclimation schedule look like?
