acclimating spiny fish

I read that its better to take home fish with spines (EG Catfish) in jars or buckets because they might pop the bag, but then how do you acclimate?

i use a co2 line and syphon water into the bucket/box the fish came in from the tank as it gives a slow water exchange. Just remember to remove some water from the box as you go otherwise you will be posting in the lessons learned area......

I transport fish in polystyrene box's, then siphon water from the tank via an airline with an airstone on the end to make the flow extra slow.
