i've been trying to get my iggy used to human contact with little success. when i first got her the guy at petco used a welding glove to pic her up, then i put her in a tank which didn't help the situation, i now have her in a 30"x4'x6' high enclosure in a high traffic area. i've been going by this site http://www.greenigsociety.org/taming.htm, for about 6 months and she is still very defensive every time the door is opened. any advise would be greatly appreciated, this is one battle i REFUSE to lose. thanks in advance.

Mabye getting her use to some outdoors time would help. The Iggy I used to watch, used to be nuts, till his owner got him slowly use to the backyard. :)

their is a patch of grass about half a block away.

Mabye a quick drive there every couple of times a week, will do the trick. Tell me how much do you hold her?

at first i was holding her everyday but she seemed to get more skidish of my hand the more i held her. thats when i started trying to acclimate her instead of forcing her.

i would say a month or so. i do keep up on clipping her nails. but i'm also trying not to stress her out, i've read the more they stress the longer it takes for iguanas to accept human contact.
