Accused robber tells his story

Police Thomas Mason walked into a Winona bank on Saturday morning and handed the teller a note. In it he threatened to return with a weapon and kill everyone in the bank if he did not receive $1,000.

The note was signed Thomas Mason.

Thomas Mason talked exclusively to 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS about why he gave the teller a note with his full name on it.

"What can I say, I just followed one of my crazy thoughts," Mason said.

The note went on to say "I am going to kill everyone in the bank if I come back in with my weapon in hand," according to police.

"They gave me the money," Mason said.

Mason then went across the street and bought $100 worth of lottery tickets.

"Not that I had time to play them," he said.

Mason then walked over to 3rd Street Liquors, bought a six-pack of beer, then took a seat 300 yards from the bank he just robbed and started scratching tickets.

Police found him later and he had $813 on him.

Thomas Mason said he was just bored with life, and offered a simple explanation for his actions.

"I was falling through the cracks of society."

lol

****! Something is defenitely ****ed up in his mind. He should be executed along with everyone else who is mentally retarded or has alzheimers.

I have reached the point a few times... Being chronically bored in life is probably one of the worst things possible.

There is no want or will to live... because there is no point...

I feel his pain. Although, I would have done something more extreme then that.
