Hello guys. Wanted to ask about these. I’m considering them but wondering how difficult it is to get them off of live food. Would also want to know their growth rate. Thanks!

Moderately difficult but not like atf. It can be done. Will need to get a group and even mix with hujeta or chalceus. So it’ll help teach the red cudas. Gotta get a powerhead and throw food in the current. Other fish will go for it and so should the cudas.

Someone’s gotta mix live food with cut up tilapia in a similar shape. Eventually can reduce the number of feeders till only prepared food available.

Growth rate is slow. 1/2 per month till about 6-8inc and then slows down.

Alternatively can add hujetas or chalceus as a substitute for the red tail cudas.

Thank you very much! Feeding live or preparing tilapia strips will probably require more time than I have. I’ll look at another characin.
