Ok after searching Fishbase i got a Id on these guys i got them origianly to put with 4 Yellowtail cudas , 2 vampire tetras (scoms) and a Odoe pike when these guys get bigger. Well turns out they only get 6.9 cm or about 2 1/2 inches. So they are already full grown cause that is about the size they are. So guess these guys are a Mini version of red and yellowtail cudas .Toothy as like the bigger cousins. I added my pics of mine on fish base and are on there as they had just one pic

Good looking little fish!

So they have visible teeth like the falcatus? Cool!

how big is the tank with the odoe. Can you post a full tank shot? I am planning to get an odoe with my armatus. Think it'll work?

Will get a couple shots of that tank..it is s 150 wide 72" long bye 24"wide...20"high long as the odoe is not aggressive i got rid of a large one thay attacked everything...1st smallet odoe so moved with my rays attacked the leopoldi..so went inot a tank by itself ubtil i traded it towards a tiger fish..the smaller is less aggressive and so far so good

I'm not sure that those are A. nasutus. I believe that nasutus generally only have a single prominent stripe running down the body and have a sharper point to the snout. I think yours look more like Acestrorhynchus isalinae. I had a couple a few years ago. Very cool little fish. Make sure you have a tight lid - I lost one of mine because it jumped out the gap where my HOB filter was.

Yes, I did look at the fishbase pics but I'm still not sure. I guess I should have been more clear with what I was saying - I believe nasutus have a single lateral stripe whereas isalinae have two (like yours) and nasutus have a more pointy snout than isalinae (both of which have more point snouts than falcatus).

Here's a picture of A. isalinae, courtesy of Tom Lorenz:

Admittedly, there isn't a lot of info about these mini cudas, so getting a definitive ID is challenging
