Foot print of tank? That is the most important thing to make that decision.

Just because they don't get as big as Rtc's ect... they are still predatory catfish and will eat anything that can fit in their mouths potentially. I've seen a few that where quite sassy and a few pretty mellow. imho some of the smaller cichlid breeds and the Cl's are likely on the menu down the road. footprint makes a difference but this cat still gets a good 18"+ I've seen a few I'de eat my shorts if they wheren't 24"+ So anything that stays under 12" is "deffinately" going to be looked at as a meal in a few years.

In general, TSNs are 10 times more predatory than RTCs, and RTCs are 10 times more predatory than acharas. In the wild acharas are almost pure scavengers AFAIK. Given no choice, they will go for live foods. Combining with aggressive large cichlids? IDK.

I'm gonna put one in my 7' x 2' x 3' - width.
Mines gonna be with cl's and from my experience with working with Achara and what I've read about them, I believe that if the fish is well fed, with adequate space, it will not resort to predation. As mentioned previously, in the wild, these guys are 99.8% scavengers. just keep an eye out and have a back up plan if anything goes wrong. Good luck bro!

My achara is with a pacu and flowerhorn right now but they're both twice his size so I'm kinda worried about the 17'' pacu taking a bite out of him. He was also kept with a 4'' mota, 11'' dovii, and 4'' tinfoils but only for a week until I sold the others so I can't say how it would've worked out long term (but probably not well for the achara lol). He doesn't act predatory at all tho so I wouldnt worry about yours being too aggressive as much as the other way around. The only 2 fish on your list that I'd be concerned about is the salvini and maybe the green texas but if u give him hiding spots and feed well it should be ok

Forgot to list that there is a Vieja in the group too. Most of my fish are pretty aggressive and all can hold their own. Clown loaches range from 4"-9".

Tank is a 180 - 6x2x2 footprint. Plenty of driftwood and rocks to hide around. Frequent water changes, too.

If I get an achara, it would be a juvenile. I think the size I saw was about 3" or so with some very nice color already. And of note, I feed all of my fish well, especially the predatory fish like the dat.

IMHO, I don't believe 6x2x2 is enough.. Achara can reach 80cm to 100cm. I think you'll need a 3' depth at minimum
