After several years of coveting other peoples Gulper cats, I finally have one of my own! He's in a 40br for now until he's big enough for my 240... I'm also waiting for all the fish in there to be over 14" long.

Anyways, he's as cute in person as I've hoped. To my surprise, he ate from my hand last night (the first night!). Happily gulper down 2 pieces of raw shrimp.

I present to you, Chubs (no affiliation with my fellow MFK'r who shares the name).

Awesome! He looks just like mine. Did you get him from beltway?

Hah! Yeah. That's about the only local place left that gets anything interesting. When I went Tuesday this guy was the only one. Did you grab one from there too?

Yup
Beltway is the best, my only issue is the health of their fish isnt always great but any store that sells rare fish for 1/4 of the price on most websites, is a store I'll go to. :D
HOT is good too. I picked up a nice black aro from them a little while ago.

I've never actually been up to HOT. Someday. And you are 100% correct about the health of Beltway's fish from time to time.

Incidentally, when you were at Beltway, did you notice the rather large-eyed silver fish they have labeled as "fat bass"? Do you know what those are? I've been trying to figure it out, but no luck thus far.

Is he a present for me? :D

Just joking, very cool cat and I'm sure you'll have fun with him! (Until he eats your other fish, that is)

lol! I was hoping you would happen by this thread Chubs!

Yah, I saw those too. To me, they looked like something that will later need brakish or salt water so I decided to pass.
