In my 55, it started when I was hearing a "drip" in the background. There is a small puddle on the floor, not an urgent leak (about one litre/day I think), but for one it's damaging my floor and I don't want it to get worse than it is. Right now I have a bunch of auratus in there (5) that are about 3" each. I have a 10 gallon emergency tank, will that suffice for space for a day while I reseal the tank? Any advice for what kind of sealants to look for?

HELLO; Before going directly to resealing the tank, do some checking to be sure it is not a leak from some where else. I have had many drips that were caused by things other than a bad tank. I once put a glass cover too close to a filter and the water made its way to a corner and dripped. Bubbles from air equipment can create a spray that makes its way out of a tank. Numerious other ways that water can get out of a tank.
If you do decide to reseal you will want to use aquarium safe silicone. Silicone I is supposed to be Ok and has been reported on this forum as being safe. ( Some one please confirm if this is correct.) Silicone II or any with anti mold or other chemical additives is no good. I like to use the tubes that are used in a caulking gun. If you decide to reseal I will post the proceedure that I have used and Feel sure that others will offer pointers as well. A lot of threads already exist on the process of resealing if you do a search.
