I just bought this Acropora a couple days ago. Was wondering if somebody could identify the exact species it is. An it has white spots on tips I think this is new growth but not for sure or is it dieing any info would be greatly appreciated.

impossible to I.D. it without a calcium bone sample that would have to be looked at by a reef ecologist but a very nice acropora.

okay so what about the white on its tips new growth or dieing? Thanks for the info about identifing it.

New growth. Being a SPS Coral, it will grow from the base - upwards and outwards, which means that you will always note the "white tips" as it grows, because that is fresh bone protruding, of which the flesh will expand over. It may (depending on it's conditions) frequently have the white tips, or may appear in cycles (think how we grow - in spurts). The only time you'd need to be concerned with disease/tissue damage/death is if the tissue around those white tips, or anywhere else along the skeleton was lose (would look like wet cloth over it, or like a person wearing a baggy t-shirt, and would flap in the current), or if it started blanching further down, you noticed the polyps not extending, or tissue was necrotic further inwards towards base. As of right now, it looks great.

nice acro most often they are strictly identified by color because they are often farmed and the specifics are lost
yours looks healthy, the small polyps are out, the white tips are growth as you suspected
