I have a choice between buying glass baffles for 11 dollars each or acrylic baffles for 20 dollars per 14 by 14 inch piece. Its a 60g Glass sump. I need 4 of them. which one would you buy?is it worth it to buy the acrylic?

Can someone help me out please? I want to buy them today and the True Value store I live by closes in 1 and 1/2 hours. Thank you for your help.

I agree with sponger_2 in going with the glass baffles. The glass baffles are less expensive and will work just as well as the acrylic ones.

I have to agree with sponger_2 on the glass baffles. They're less expensive and will work just as well as the acryllic ones.

if u have a glass sump, then get glass baffles. and only 4? whats your plans for the sump layout?

Pm'd you about some scrubbies, sponger. Do you think the design I pasted up there is pretty good or do I need more baffles?

You don't need baffles. This is a 55 gal. tank, with 2- 4" thick pieces of Poret foam wedged in, with 2 liters of SeaChem Pond Matrix in a mesh bag on the bottom. 2- Eheim pumps and 2- Jager Heaters complete the filter. Works like a champ!

Use the baffles, the water will flow more efficiently. More bang for your buck. Ideally you want some of your bio media out of the water i.e. Wet/Dry. Baffles make that possible. Use the Jcardona design.
