Acrylic paint or styrofoam or acrylic sheets, for the background.

Well yes, this actually makes sense. Well in that case I can simply go with a vinyl wrap on the outside of the aquarium then, isn't it ? And also those coloured boards, are those sun boards or again Styrofoam ?

I'm not sure what sun board is (maybe your local name for same?) but fusion board is simply kind of plastic cardboard. But yes some kind of vinyl wrap is another option.

In our region, vinyl stickers are most common for tank background. Try getting a thicker sheet. It's more forgiving when applying. If you can get tinted window film cheap then that's an option as well.

If you are really cheap and not sure what colour you like, try construction paper - could be paper thin or stiff like cardboard, from the crafts section in department store or stationery store.

I won't last long term, especially f wet, but you can check out different colours on the cheap, and then when you figure it out, you can buy expensive plastic sheets or acrylic paint in that colour.

Well, here's an update. I did go with the sun board as a couple of them were lying around near an aquarium store close to my home. He just let me take it as it was useless for him. (Sun board is used to make tank tops or covers). So I did stick it behind my aquarium, on the exterior.

Spare my camera, I don't have a good one and my photography skills aren't good.

I would still love to learn how to create moss as the background. Thank you :)
