Morris, IL.
Is there anyone that lives around morris, Ill. that does acrylic buffing? I just bought a used tank and it is in pretty good shape except the bottom 6" of the front looks like he forgot to buff that out or he couldnt reach it so I would like to have that cleaned up. The scratches are feelable and noticable dry but dont know about when there is water it, any way let me know or maybe I will do it my self as I do have buffers and pads.

Just go to autozone and buy some sandpaper there and sand it some, then run the buffer over it once you have tapered down to the finest paper - I know the Pep Boys I went to had 400, 600, 1000, 1500, 2000 grit. I followed the directions from a kit I got with the tank (which went all the way to 12000 grit! but was dulled from prior use) and just went all in one direction with one, then in a perpendicular direction with the next, switching back and forth. I haven't run the buffer over it yet but I am pretty sure that the novus #2 will polish the inside up nice even though it's currently blurry from the 2000 grit sanding it got (when wet, like during rinsing, it's crystal clear though). Mine had some super deep scratching, which is why I went with 400 grit sandpaper, you may not need that.

That's a good link that inspired me to go get a buffer from Home Depot. That plus a bit of the novus solution works really well on smaller scratches. Give that a shot, and if you still have scratching, do the sanding.
