hi, i am from a country that only has 3/4" 7x3' acrylic sheets and most people doesnt know what sealant to use to make acrylics adhere to cement.
may i ask the help of the people in this board. i am in the planning stage of building some aquas for display. below are some detailed questions:
- can anybody recommend a site that supplies acrylic sheets, USA or in Asia?
- how do i compute how thick the acrylic needs to be? say i am planning on 15 sets of 10x8x8' cement walled tank with the 10feet as the front for viewing. i can still go a little larger.
- how large can my viewing window be?
- can i just put the acrylic in a smoothed out l shaped cement and seal it directly with a sealant? something like putting the sheet on a 4x4" L shape cement platform (ex. 2" 3x6' sheet) (using the vertical part of the L as a stopper to hold the acrylic from pushing forward and the horizontal part of the L for the acrylic to be placed on, the will just seal this with a sealant after the acrylic?)
- is there any specific thread on how to lay the acrylic on the window base, what surface does the sheet needs to be on and what sealant (with curing time) to be used.

there are no professional companies that does this work here. tried searching the posts and i can only see some general pictures and comments on the construction. may i ask for instructions on the part of "how to build the viewing window with all the neccessary materials to be used and how to use them".
dont like to use glass, what we have is just 1" and even if i get it tempered, itll still be more succeptible to damage as we do sometimes get earthquakes.
sorry for the long questions, but your help will go along way.
