OK Fellas i am in need of some major engineering

so more planning for my first large aquarium and i am leaning towards acrylic because i have a close friend that works with commercial grade PVC and has acess other plastics that i would like to build this tank.

i called him and asked him to do this and he said he probably could do it, but he would have to check on what type of CLEAR plastic to use. he stated that the thickest plastic he personally has worked with is 3/4 inch
so what CLEAR plastics are suitable for aquarium use?

and would 3/4 be enough to support a 150 gallon tank a water wieght of 1248 lbs?

say:

150 Wide 48 x 30 x 24

150 Long 60 x 24 x 24

62.38 (wieght of a cubic ft of water) x 20 cubic ft (150 gallon tank) = 1248 lbs total

i really don't how to figure the strengh of each measurement of thickness
so i would like to know if any has any data or experience with this?

if i can go larger thats would be a plus and i do realize that i probably am just Better off buying a premade tank
.....

but knowledge is power and experience a lot helps too

I have a 60x24x24 made by Clear for Life. Acrylic is 1/2" top, front, side. Bottom is 3/8". I say you should be ok if Clear for Life is doing it.
