Acrylic tank question

I don't remember where, but I heard that Plecos and acrylic tanks don't do well. Something about them eating away at the acrylic or something like that. Is there any truth to this tall tale? Let me know!
 
I have an acrylic tank, and Plecos, with no problems.
 
common pleco's no problem - no teeth.

but some of the fancy "pleco's" which are panaques like the royal pleco, have teeth that can scratch the acrylic quite easily.

my royal would make loud rasping noises on the glass of my 90, I hate to think what he would have done to an acrylic tank.

its the ones with the teeth you need to watch for.. and yep.. the will rasp the heck out of acrylic..
