I sanded, buffed, and cleaned the one side so far. It was pretty cheap on Craigslist, so I figured, why not. It has come out pretty good thus far. First time working with acrylic. And thank everyone on these forums for the info on doing this!!

Tank looks awesome! Btw what steps did you take to fix the scratches? I recently came across an acrylic tank at a price I could not say "no" to, and I soon found out why! partly due to my own user error of using the rough side of a sponge to clean it and make perfect circles of scratches. Car headlight restoration kit?

Thanks! I used a Mother's brand headlight kit, and I also bought some extra wet:"/dry sand paper to make sure the scratches came out. I used 800, 1000, and 2000 grit. All bought at autozone. One thing I would say is to be sure you use plenty of water when sanding. Otherwise it will not buff out properly and leave it with a dull/fuzzy finish. I learned the hard way and had to redo mine. Good luck!!
