Going to use two rows of cinder blocks , two blocks high and 5 feet long.

I was thinking of using wood planks to go over the cinder blocks.

Is it able to have a area of open space under the tank or not

between the two rows of cinder blocks, bottom and top of the tank is 1/2 inch thick and sides are 3/4 inch thick , tank size is 120 gallons

yes you can.. however it is advised that acrylic tanks be fully supported on the bottom so if it decided to blow out dont say i didnt warn you..

not only that but fish dont live hover over open space... keep it "natural" and give them a bottom

So would a piece of wood that was the same size as the bottom of the tank resting on the two rows of cinder block work in supporting the acrylic tank properly, or would i need to have three rows of cinder blocks , filling in the gap, and then using the wood that is the same size as the bottom of the tank.

depends how big of a gap you are tlking about.. 6" or so and you should be ok...

what size tank are you working with

the tanks footprint is 60 inches long 18 inches wide and 30 inches tall

happy thanksgiving

so thats 8x8x16 for the block... 8+8=16.. tank is 18"w which leaves 2"... you should be fine as long as everyting is even...

these bricks happen to be 71/2 inches wide so it leaves me with a three inch gap that will have a plywood top that the tank will rest on.
