acrylic thickness

i am planning a large saltwater, cinder block tank,

dimensions will be 8ft long 5 ft wide, 5 ft high,

do you think 1" thick acrylic is thick enough for the viewing window

i found a place locally that i can get an 8 x 4 sheet for $550.00

what do you guys think???

it is a thickness calculator......


it says 1.5 inch .........................
