Just out of curiosity, would you prefer acrylic over glass when it comes to larger aquariums, if weight was not the issues, and why or why not? Looking to buy a larger tank and its glass not acrylic. Pro and cons if you have them?

Glass
Pro-Don't scratch as easy, Cheaper to buy, If the glass breaks its easy to replace.
Cons- Are really fun to move.....NOT!!!!

Acrylic
Pro- Much easier to move. You can get some really nice looking tanks because of the molding options with acrylic.
Cons- More expensive, They scratch easily

Running a bit blank right now so if I can think of anything else I will post it up for you.

What size tank are looking to get?

the biggest advantage of an acrylic tank is when you use rocks or heavy objects for decorations... you can drop them accidentally and it will not break the tank...

For larger tanks, I feel safer having acrylic. It won't break like glass may if accidentally hit, and the seams won't leak as they are bonded. I've heard of glass tank seals failing due to various reasons (age, temp fluctuations, drying out when stored, etc)... and with large volumes of water, this can be scary.

You can keep an acrylic tank looking great if you care for it properly.

Weight is an issue, and the main reason for buying acrylic.
